HIGHLIGHTS
L`Eroica – heroic and mythical. Beautifully pleasant and wild. Join us for a cycling experience out of the ordinary, together with other enthusiasts. The ride goes through some of the world's best vineyards, up and down country roads with "white gravel", roads that really put the rider to the test. But in the middle of one of the heaviest things you can do on a bike, a "food station" appears where you have to stamp your participation card. Chianti wine and salami and a piece of cheese are served there. You meet people from all over the world who all smile and pat you on the shoulder and shout "forza" as you set off on the next stretch of rolling beautiful Tuscan countryside. And after a full day of toil, smiles, impressions and perhaps the occasional scrape or chafing wound, Vasanello awaits. With "La pecora ladra" and a dinner that surpasses most anything you've eaten so far in your life. With accompanying drink. And with stories and experiences that simply MUST be shared in the group. When you finally hit the bed in Casa Etronia, you don't fall asleep, you pass out.
DAY 1 - Friday
We pick up at the airport in Rome and drive to the hotel. Here we check together that the equipment is ready for the adventure that starts in 2 days. And we eat a meal that helps prepare you for the challenge you will soon face.
DAY 2 - Saturday
Breakfast before we drive to the start and finish town of Gaiole in Chianti to experience the atmosphere, see the exhibitions of vintage bikes and equipment, taste this year's vintage or the year's earliest olive oil. And not least pick up the start number and participant card. And maybe you'll find the shirt you just HAVE to buy? We then return to the hotel for dinner and a good night's sleep. DAY 3 - Sunday RIDE DAY
1 espresso before we travel to the start. Breakfast is eaten in the car. Then the start goes and for the next few hours there will be alternating toil, smiles, laughter, feelings of lethargy, and more laughter. In the car after the race, it may be a bit quiet on the way back to Vasanello, but as we manage to digest what we have experienced, the stories and atmosphere come. And by the time night hits us, we've eaten well, maybe talked a little about our own and others' achievements? And in any case provided us with lifelong memories.
DAY 4 – Monday
Breakfast at Bar Centrale before we set off on a bike ride on some of the most inviting bike paths you can imagine. Through nut groves and olive groves, up hills and down hills, over plains where we meet riders on horseback and the occasional "Apè". We eat lunch along the way at a bar that serves us some of the local dishes, maybe you try wild boar? In the afternoon we relax, either in the square in Vasanello with an ice cream, a beer or a coffee. Or we go for a walk in the area, enjoy the surroundings and the atmosphere and feel that the legs are slowly coming back to themselves after the heroic effort they made yesterday. The dinner is in style for the rest of the stay and again we are served local specialties that underline why it is called "La Bella Vita".
DAY 5 – Tuesday
Breakfast at Bar Centrale, then a recovery tour around Vasanello and its surroundings, either by bike or on foot. Have you ever looked into how the Etruscans lived? Or wandered around in large nut groves? Lunch is served either in our garden or at one of the square's restaurants. And the afternoon is spent in the sun wall with your feet up and with big smiles. Before dinner, you will learn to bake pizza from some of Italy's best pizza bakers, and then there will be wine and singing.
DAY 6 - Wednesday
Breakfast and journey to the airport - and perhaps you are already thinking about when you can again take a trip to "the real Italy"
We help you with everything you need.
If you travel with us, the price normally includes everything. We have experienced guides who have cycled actively, but you should not think about whether this will go too fast. No, take it easy, here everyone is going to the finish line smiling.
